Haryana: Two held for former sarpanch’s kin murder case

KARNAL: The Karnal police arrested two persons in connection with the murder case of Sukhbir, an uncle of a former sarpanch of Jani.
Police also recovered two illegal weapons and four cartridges from their possession.
The accused have been identified as Bhupinder alias Kala of Jani village and Himanshu alias Balli of Rahra village in the district. However, the third accused is still at large.
Police said that the accused confessed to the crime of murder and revealed that he had an altercation with Sukhbir's family and he took revenge.
As per the police, two cases including an attempt to murder and scuffle were already been registered against Bhupinder. He was also deported from the USA.
Crime Investigation Agency-II Incharge Mohan Lal said that the accused were arrested on Wednesday. They were taken on 7-day police remand to determine the involvement of others.
It is pertinent to mention here that Sukhbir was shot at by the assailants on Saturday morning when he was returning home in his car. On the next day, he succumbed to his injuries as he had received 6 bullets.
